The Revolution is Not a Party

The Revolution is Not a Party, 2013 - ongoing
performance, megaphones, view of the performance for FLUX Projects, Atlanta, Georgia, 2013

The Revolution is Not a Party is a roaming series of performances over the course of one evening, with a large number of people exclaiming revolutionary statements through megaphones capable of projecting voice up to one mile. The performers’ scripts are a collage of different textual sources, including manifestos, political speeches, avant-garde films, philosophy, song lyrics and protest slogans from the past to the present. As the performers walk the streets and lift their megaphones to speak, their voices echo and overlap, creating an incidental auditory composition of explosive and inspiring declarations. A revolution in potential.
